    Whiz is a classic. Much bigger menu than a hamburger stand. My double cheeseburger was very good. Fries were those big, fat old fashioned style. Quality overall was in line with Super Duper Burger. Not quite as good as Beeps Burgers. But way better than the place looks. It's a neighborhood diner in an old Burger Chef building. The onion rings and chicken wings looked very good. Don't pass this place by.

    I forgot to mention the Mango milkshake. I'm getting one of those next time.

    Satisfied my burger cravings, and quick service.

    I pass by this place almost every time I go to dance class, and finally tried it with my SO.

    We got the Whiz burger, a chicken sandwich, a mocha milkshake, fried and a drink for around $30. Which is honesty a super decent price for SF. The dude at the cash register was super funny, and we had a good time with him.

    The food itself was pretty standard, the Whiz burger came with avocado so it was wonderful! And it was also on one of those long roll buns instead of a standard burger bun which was interesting. The milkshake really hit the spot, nice and thick and creamy, it was wonderful on a hot day. Everything else was just pretty standard, nothing to write home about, but I enjoyed everything.

    Overall, I'll probably grab a burger on my way home from my workout, you know to really balance out the calories I just burned.

    The menu doesn't clearly advertise that there are waffle fries here (they call them seasoned cross-cut fries) but THERE ARE SOME WAFFLE FRIES. Waffle fries are the second best version of fried potato, first being tater tots (perfect crunch to softness ratio). They tasted like seasoned curly fries, but in waffle shape (curly fries = four best version of fried potato). And everyone knows waffle fries are better for dipping.

    You know what I really loved, though? The onion rings (aka vegetable donuts per Cookie Monster). Perfectly seasoned batter, good crunch, the onion didn't come away stringy; I could bite it perfectly through. I just hate it when you bite into an onion ring and as you're pulling away the onion part comes away with it. It's true, eating a hollow shell of batter is interesting, but I really am in it partially for the onion, too, guys.

    Dipping sauce besides ketchup (aka ranch, BBQ, etc) costs an extra $0.5 so if you're an indecisive saucer, you better make some tough decisions, or have money.

    High 3 stars. We walk by Whiz Burgers all the time and have always been curious - are they any good? How do they stay in business? (They always seem empty)

    Turns out they have pretty good burgers. Still unclear how they are still around, but turns out they are pretty historic and used to be a legit drive through (turned parking lot. Maybe that's how they stay afloat nowadays).

    On top of the decent burger, there's also no wait, it's cheap, and they have a great banana shake. It's worth a stop by here to try it out!

    THE FOOD:

    * Garlic Fries ($4.95) - 2.5 stars
    The fries, while thick cut (which I like), were too dry. Also, this smelled strongly of garlic, but when we opened it, it looked like plain fries. Where was the garlic? We could taste it, but not as strongly as when the fries are covered with freshly chopped garlic.

    * Fresh Banana Shake ($4.70) - 4 stars
    Usually I avoid banana in any smoothie I get as I feel it's overpowering, but here it tasted great! Made fresh, nice thick texture.

    * Whiz Burger ($8.75) - 3.5 stars
    Good! This is the only burger that comes on a French Roll, which while more classy, makes for a drier/crunchier bread. Otherwise the ingredients are fresh, and they are nicely balanced. For the patty, I asked for "medium rare" and I think the guy chuckled.. not sure if they do that, and mine was pretty much a medium.

    Super sloppy junk food that I love eating on weekends! It does take a while for them to make the food so make sure to call and place an order in advance. Strawberry shakes are my favorite there. It's super sugary and flavorful. Perfect for late night munchies
